The Augusta Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) began in 1989, with an uncompromising vision to assist sales professionals through education and by promoting a higher level of professionalism in its local members. Today the Augusta SMC is dedicated to its diverse membership and strives to provide sales professionals, marketing professionals, builder members, and associate members the highest level of education, programs, and networking opportunities available. Each year the SMC honors leaders within its membership for sales production, marketing achievements, and service to the membership. The council’s governing body consists of five executive committee members, nine members of the board of directors and the president of the Home Builders Association of the Greater Aiken-Augusta Region and holds an awards banquet in February. Educational training through the National Association of Home Builders’ Institute of Residential Marketing, Certified Sales Professional (CSP) and Advanced CSP are offered.
