MEMBERSHIP AWARDSCongratulations to long-time member, Mark Herbert, Sr, owner of Herbert Homes, Inc, who was elected a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders at its Spring Board of Directors meeting in Washington, DC. To earn this distinction, Mark had to attend at least two meetings per year for 10 years. In 2007, Mark was made a Senior Life Director of this local association after having satisfied our strict 20-year attendance requirement. Our congratulations and appreciation to Mark for his years of dedication and contributions to the building industry and this association. Each year, the Builders Association presents and recognizes two outstanding members who have rendered unselfishly of their time and skills to assist and promote this association, its mission and its activities during the present year. One is the "Builder of the Year", and the other is the "Associate of the Year". It must be noted that these are very difficult decisions because so many members do so much for their organization every year. 2008 Builder of the Year – Jake Ivey In 1992, a special award was created to recognize those members who have made lifetime contributions to the industry. It was named in honor of a very special member, Jack Bowles, for his tireless efforts and sincere dedication to the housing industry. The Jack Bowles Award recipient is determined by the past recipients of the Jack Bowles Award and does not have to be given out every year. 2008 Jack Bowles Award recipient - Ernie Blackburn (Click Here to see our past award recipients) |
