State of Georgia requires a license for Residential and General Contractors

     Pursuant to Georgia law, certain types of contractors must obtain a license from the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors in order to work in Georgia.
     To download an application and to see further instructions and information, visit the GA Secretary of State’s website at http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/contractors/default.htm; or, go to Examination Information to get information about the examination process. Applicants who are approved for examination will receive written notification of such.
     Please review the Board Rules and our Frequently Asked Questions for help in completing the applications. You must decide your own license type for which you must apply, and you can determine this by reading the definitions found in Georgia Law or by comparing the various license types and applying the definitions to your scope of work.      Currently, the Board does not reciprocate with any state.

EPD Stormwater Rules

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division uses enforcement actions to correct serious environmental problems and to bring businesses, individuals and government entities into compliance with environmental laws. The most common enforcement actions are consent orders and administrative orders. The order explains the nature of the problem, details the action necessary to correct the problem and may or may not include a settlement amount or fine.
